Habitat

Spotted Scat (Kui) is found in coastal waters, brackish zones, and estuaries along the Arabian Sea. In Pakistan, it is caught near mangroves and harbors, particularly around Karachi and Sindh’s coastal belt.

At Anbar Fish Karachi, Spotted Scat (Kui) is caught using coastal nets and trap fishing in estuarine and mangrove-rich waters. The fish are carefully cleaned and handled fresh to preserve their natural texture and reduce a muddy aftertaste.

Gold silk bream has Scales on the body. The anal fin is with 3 spines and 8–9 soft rays, molariform teeth present in both jaws, 4½ scale rows between 5th dorsal spine and lateral line, interorbital area scaleless
